About TGS
The Glass Specialists, Inc., was founded by Wilson Harrell in 1983, as The Glass Shoppe. Wilson and his late wife, Patty, we're no strangers to the glazing industry in Oklahoma. They married in 1952 and opened their first of several glass companies, primarily auto glass replacement. Some of those glass companies still exist under different names and ownership.
Beginning a new business in 1983, following Oklahoma's "oil bust" was, as they realized, risky. Yet, along with other members of the family, they forged ahead, believing that their faith, experience, integrity, determination, and work ethic would propel their business in Oklahoma's recovery. This belief was instrumental in the decision a year later to incorporate as The Glass Specialists, Inc. Their son, Kerry, took on the responsibility as president from the beginning and to this day continues to lead a growing TGS. The first location for TGS was a rented warehouse and the first contract was fittingly a church. Over the years TGS has grown and thrives on repeat business. We are proud to say that the general contractor for that first church project continues to be a valued customer today. TGS employs over thirty people, several of whom have celebrated twenty years with the company. Some employees started with TGS following their high school graduation and have decided to make the glass business their career. Although TGS primarily services the greater Oklahoma City Area, completed projects include Altus High School, Bedre Chocolates in Davis, Woodward Convention Center, OSU Bioscience in Ardmore, Sandridge Energy in Alva, Four Partners at OU in Norman, Seth Wadley Autogroup in Paul's Valley, and Salt Creek Casino in Pocasset. The Harrells are professed Christians and active in their local church. Their belief is that God has blessed this business just as He has blessed America as a nation, and all credit goes to Him.
